ABOUT CARGOANALYTICA
Behind CargoAnalytica is a professional who has spent more than three decades working with cargo, documents, transport and international operations.
I’m Diego Carmona. I did not enter international trade through an academic office. I entered through operations. And that is still how I look at the industry.
Diego Carmona · International Trade · Transport · Logistics
WHO IS BEHIND IT
CargoAnalytica is built on more than 30 years of professional experience in international trade, foreign trade and international transport.
I have worked for freight forwarders, exporters and importers, and an EPC engineering company. I have worked on both sides of the operation: as an operator and as a client. My experience covers air, road and sea freight, special cargo, chartering and industrial projects.
That is why CargoAnalytica is not designed simply to collect headlines. Technology helps find and process information. Professional judgement decides what is worth understanding.
WHERE I COME FROM
My career has not followed a straight line. It has moved through different parts of the logistics chain, which is precisely why I can now look at an operation from more than one angle.
I started at a freight forwarder in air import operations, dealing with overnight arrivals, urgent spare parts and airport procedures.
I moved into road transport operations, including high-value hanging garments and demanding transport movements.
I worked on international operations involving industrial projects, oversized cargo, sea, air and road transport, chartering and on-site port supervision.
I later worked as Commercial Director, developing projects, international relationships and internal improvements for clients.
As Logistics Manager for an EPC engineering company delivering turnkey industrial projects, I experienced international operations from the client and project-execution side.
PROJECT CARGO
Among the operations I have been involved in are the transport of tunnel boring machines and other special cargo.
Coordination of an operation involving coastal vessels, barges, special road transport and loading and discharge operations.
Participation in the transport of a tunnel boring machine for the high-speed rail project.
Participation in the transport operation of another tunnel boring machine in Madrid.
“Cargo is not a slide. It has weight, dimensions, a route — and someone has to make sure it gets there.”
EDUCATION & SPECIALISATION
Operational experience is the foundation, but I have never stopped studying.
WHY CARGOANALYTICA EXISTS
Anyone can find news. The difficult part begins when you have to distinguish an interesting story from one that can actually change an operation.
That is what I try to do at CargoAnalytica: separate the developments in trade, tariffs, customs, freight, ports, routes, transport, regulation, logistics and risk that may have real consequences for companies importing, exporting or moving cargo.
Technology can process huge amounts of information. It cannot replace the experience required to interpret a route, a cost, a document, an operation or a logistics consequence.
WHAT SITS BEHIND IT
I am interested in explaining what happens when rules, documents and cargo meet reality.
A step-by-step method for understanding how classification, origin, customs, documentation, Incoterms, transport, payments and international contracting connect.
International market intelligence and tailored studies for companies that need to understand opportunities, buyers and market movements.
Specialist analysis, context and editorial support for media, professional publications and associations covering international trade and logistics.
